Things to Consider When Selecting a Web Browser

web-browser.jpg

If you’re stressed by the prospect of choosing a web browser you can relax. The process won’t be nearly as difficult or complex as you’re expecting. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with your computer’s specifications. The odds are pretty good that the manufacture has already provided you with easy access to the browser that will be best for your computer’s design and operating system. The advantage of using the web browser suggested by the manufacture is that many of the security features needed to ensure safe browsing will already be in place.

Another thing to consider is that some browsers aren’t compatible with some operating systems. The best way to determine if the browser you wish to use and your computer will be able to communicate with one another is checking your computer’s platform and how much memory is available on your hard drive. Good choices for computes with a limited amount of storage space include:

• Dillo

• Netsurf

• Off by One

• Chrome

The determining factor most people use when choosing a web browser is speed. They don’t want to have to wait for pages to load. They want to click on a link and have it open right away. The fastest browsers are typically the ones that have the highest JavaScript performance.

The most important thing to keep in mind when choosing a web browser is safety. You don’t want anyone to get their hands on your key passwords. One of the best ways to protect yourself and your computer is using a really secure, but somewhat slower webbrowser like FireFox for the sites you want to keep secure, like PayPal and your online banking sites, and stick to Google Chrome when you just want to surf the net.

Working for a Dot Com Company

1acee040-5e23-415f-9975-ad93bc1431de.jpeg

I have been interested in computers for as long as I can remember. I have always loved learning how they work, and after high school, I opted for a computer engineering degree from a local technical school rather than a 4 year college.

I was able to complete my degree in just 18 months, and then was hired on at a local computer shop doing repairs and installations for clients, and the owner was also apprenticing me in web design. I worked for the company for about 6 years, before taking a position with another company in a larger city, doing much of the same things as at my previous job, but with a little more responsibility. I was also put in charge of developing some new software for our clients with online stores, that would allow their customers to shop more securely.

Two years ago, I heard about a possible job opportunity working for Mozilla Firefox in the their web development department. I had used their web browser for years, and liked all that I had read about the company. Working for them seemed like somewhat of a dream come true. I talked with my family and with some friends I knew who were working in the field to see what I job like that would entail. I applied (with a little hesitancy!), but I felt like I was qualified, based off the job description. After a few weeks, I got an email from the human resources department and went for an interview.

I was hired on in the development department and I am loving it. I get to work every day doing something I enjoy, and I get to see the “behind the scenes” of how a dot com company really works.

Mozilla Firefox Is Not A Great Browser

414cec0b-a977-4f4f-81dc-eda6b22130a8.jpg

For all the problems that you can find on the Internet there is nothing worse than having a web browser that does not meet your expectations. I would have to admit that I have experienced this several occasions and the majority of the time Mozilla Firefox is the browser I am using. Now to be clear I am not an owner of this browser. I use Apple products and therefor only use Safari. However the business that I work for uses Mozilla Firefox and that drives me nuts. The problems I have are numerous and I would like to share them with you as we go along. First, I hate the overall layout of the browser. The color scheme is terrible and looks like something from the 1990’s. The buttons are not in a convenient place and therefore the ability of the user to navigate the screens quickly is impeded.

The second thing I hate about Mozilla Firefox is the way it categorizes the searches you are looking for. I guess I am used to Google and the way it looks but I expect that tabs to be clear, bold, and easy to read. Too many times the lettering blends together and it makes for a hard read. The final thing I hate about Mozilla Firefox is the way the browser performs. Many people seem to think that this browser is a great way to avoid scams, spyware, malware, and even viruses, but the truth is much different. It blocks a few tings but I have had a terrible time with slowness. So to be sure that you are getting the best from your browser you need to make sure you are not using Mozilla Firefox. You will totally be sorry if you do.

Web Browsers like Firefox are Easy to Use

73e0044c-dfa1-4e3b-b435-4878a6572406.jpg

For the average internet user, it may seem difficult to decide which web browser to choose when doing an online search. The truth is that if you are just doing simple searches and nothing more, just about any web browser will do. There are many to choose from but one that you might not have heard of before is Mozilla Firefox. This is not a new browser, but it is not one that will come preloaded on your computer or phone like Explorer or Chrome. All of these browsers will do the job they supposed to, so don’t fret when choosing one over the others.

If you really want to compare them, there are some things that you can look at to see the differences. One of the things that they will all have now will be tabs. This is something rather new to browsers, but it is a very nice feature that you will like having. Instead of having to open up a bunch of different windows you can just open one or two and have tabs open inside of the window. This makes going back and forth from one site to another much easier than it used to be.

Another thing to think about is where to find the menu buttons on the browser. Sometimes they are on one side of the window, and in other browsers you will find them on the other side. Use the different browsers to find out which one fits your needs the best. You should also think about how easy it is to locate bookmarks or other items you will want to access while doing an online search.

I Have Never Liked The Firefox Browser

6672ed7c-3ed3-4b8b-8231-6e0133640807.jpg

As a normal person there are things that I like and there are a number of things that I dislike. I have learned over the years that there are times when the things I dislike can be changed but those times are few and far between. A great example would be the love I have for tomatoes. As a young kid I was never in the mood to eat tomatoes. However as I have aged and matured I have learned to like this food. I wish I could say the same thing about Firefox. I grew up in a time when the computer was just taking off and the Internet was still wide open for development. It was during these years that I learned the basics of the Internet and search engines. In all honesty I fell in love with the old Lycos and even the Infoseek search Engines. Then Google came along and totally ruined everything as they continue to take over the world.

Firefox is one of those search engines that can be used if you have to but you never really like it. The colors of Firefox are boring. When you get used to a Chrome or even Safari, you just fall in love with the color schemes. This is not the case with Firefox. I also hate the layout of the Firefox browser. For whatever reason the layout just does not fit with what I learned as a kid. It seems harsh and edgy but not in a good way. It lacks a certain element of finesse and I think this is the main reason I dislike the browser. Or it could be the simple fact that the Firefox browser is trying to hard to be the next best thing. They are trying to be the Google of browsers and it is not working.

3 Reasons I Dislike Firefox

6f539c3a-1213-48f7-a217-43ef07fd537a.jpg

When it comes to change I must admit that I am not a huge fan. I am like a lot of other people in the sense that once I have something a certain way I dislike it when it changes. A great example of this would be hairstyles. I have a certain style that I like. I make no fuss over the hair on my head but I prefer for the hair to be in a certain position. When this changes it bothers me. So I am like this with other things as well. One of the things I like is my current Internet browser. I have been using Google as my main search engine for a long time. Over that time I have come to learn the best ways to use this system and I have also learned the way it looks as well as the way it looks when it does not work well. In other words, I understand this system and I know what I like. So in order to explain the Firefox issues I have I must share the three things hat I dislike about the system.

The first thing that stands out to me is the total lack of continuity between the system and the user. Perhaps it is just me but I am not bale to make the system or the engine work as well as other because it does not flow very well. I also hate the search results that I get with this engine. The search results are typically very different and they are not the most popular results on other engines. This makes research harder for me. Finally, I hate the way it looks. I am a suck for a well designed and laid out format. This system does not meet that criteria and for that I am not a fan.

Creating Coconut Oil for Health Featured On My New Website

coconut-oil-for-health.jpg

Last year I took a chance and started a health and natural care store that has since become wildly successful. Since the store itself is doing well, I decided it was time to sit down and create a website. Not only did I hope that having a virtual store would allow my customers to browse my merchandise and place orders when they want something but don’t feel like driving into town, but I also hoped that it would also allow me to connect with new customers.

Creating the website was easy. The harder part was trying to understand how to use SEO methods to improve my websites visibility. I knew I needed some really good content that would appeal to my target market, but I didn’t know where to start.

I spoke to a few of my customers and they suggested that I start by posting some articles about coconut oil for health. This made sense. These days lots of people have started to understand that coconut oil for health is something everyone should use. The coconut oil can be used for everything from washing hair, to creating glowing skin. Coconut oil for health can even help people reach and maintain a healthy weight.

Now I had a topic I wanted to showcase on my website, now I just had to figure out how to create the actual content. Since I was trying to keep my costs low, I wanted to write the content myself, but I wasn’t sure where to start. In the end I consulted my prepping books. I’d purchased these books back when I was dating a guy who loved extreme outdoor vacations: the kind where you go out into the wilderness for a week with just a big knife and wits.

I never enjoyed the extreme vacations as much as my ex-boyfriend did, but I had liked the prepper books. They’re full of practical advice that I was able to use in my day to day life. Since I always like the straightforward, laid back writing style I decided to study the books and try to mirror the same style when I finally sat down to write my coconut oil for health content.

Not only did the books help me settle on a writing style that attracts a high volume of traffic to my website, the books also contained information about coconut oil for health which I used as a reference while I created the content I needed. Now that I have created one section of content, I’m going to use the books to help me write the next section of content. This time I think I’m going to write about tea tree oil.

The Latest Updates to Firefox Web Browser

1acee040-5e23-415f-9975-ad93bc1431de.jpeg

The latest Firefox web browser is known as Firefox 29. Firefox 29 features the Australis design that adjusts the user interface, makes the tabs look more modern, as well as the menu layout and the toolbar. As always, any time something changes it always seems to cause a little bit of stress. As long as you are willing to learn new things and go with the flow so to speak, you will be fine with Firefox 29. Firefox 29 users will have to adapt to some core changes and rearrangements of core features.

Firefox’s new design is a bit large, meaning that the icons and such are going to be a lot larger than you are probably use to. The tabs have been cleaned up so that they look sleeker and cleaner. Firefox is now somewhat more interactive with some animations. One example of this is when you go to bookmark something the site triggers an animation of a star dropping into the bookmark icon.

Firefox 29 also is very compatible with many older extensions, so you won’t have to worry about it not working with your computer. If you are looking for a good, secure web browser, this one is easy to download and install. With better security features than Internet Explorer and more plug-in customization than Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox is still the reigning champion in the battle of the browsers. If you are still using another system to surf the Internet, it’s time for an update! Download Firefox today and experience the power of better connectivity.

Which Web Browser Is Your Favorite?

I remember when I first starting getting online to search the internet or check my email, there was only one web browser to choose from. Well, at least that is what I thought. I had no idea that more than one browser existed and to tell you the truth, I didn’t even know that it was called a web browser. A lot has changed since those days and not just the internet how to search it, but also what I know about searching for sites and information online.

The old web browser is long gone, or at least in my house, and now I always use Mozilla Firefox. Of course my operating system came with the default browser, but the only time I will use that is if a site I am visiting is not compatible with Firefox which rarely happens anymore. I really like using Mozilla better than any other browser because it gets me the information I need quickly.

I have found that if I do have to use another type of web browser, it will crash before I get to the right website. I really love the layout of the Firefox browser as well. It is much easier to use than any other web browser I have tried. Some of my friends, who are not as technically savvy as me, are not convinced that they should try Firefox and are happy with the old type of browser. I keep telling them they are missing out, but they just won’t believe me. Maybe the next time their browser crashes, they will realize that they should have given Mozilla Firefox a chance.

Why I Do Not Use Firefox

So a few years ago there was a craze going all over the Internet. The issue being discussed was the arrival of the Firefox web browser. My wife was quick to pull the trigger and she installed the web browser on our computers. I was not aware of this fact until I turned on my computer and noticed that everything was different. I for one am a creature of habit and I do not like having my things changed. However, I was particularly upset because this web browser was awful. First, the aesthetics were not good. I mean, if you are going to spend millions on a new browser why not make it look good? It didn’t look like my Google that I was used too. Second, the performance was not as good as Google. Lets face it. Google is taking over the world. The own everything and they are storing information on everything you read and do on the Internet. That porn you thought nobody knew about? Yeah, they know all about it.

Firefox was a poor attempt to cash in on the I.T. craze. They thought the new platform would bring in millions, and it did. However they were not able to hold onto all the customers. They soon realized that the product was not good. I for one will never go back to this platform. It isn’t the worst platform ever, that belongs to Chrome, but it is a close second in my opinion. When it comes to the Internet why not let the best company rule the roost? Google has the market cornered and they do a great job with it.

Internet Safety Tips We All Should Remember

The world as you we know it is much different than the world of 20 years ago. Gone are the days of simple phone messages and family centered television. Now day’s the entertainment centers around electronic devices such as computers, phones and IPads. And while the advances in technology have made life more fun the reality is that the connected world has become a lot more dangerous. If you are a parent or if you are simply interested in being more cautious and safe, then the following information is going to be right up your alley. Internet safety is not a funny matter and it needs to be taken very seriously. The following tips will be beneficial for keeping your family safe and for making sure that you do not become the next victim of a hate crime or identity theft.

It is always important that you never release your personal identification while on the Internet. Identity thieves, in an effort to steal your good name and your money, could use items such as your phone number, address, or your social security number. Always keep your personal information private. Another great thing to keep in mind is that your opinions can be used against you as well. Sites like Facebook are notorious for tracking your location. If you place information, such as an opinion, on these sites, it can be tracked. Not only can your opinions be tracked but your photos can be tracked as well. Always make sure that your location is checked “off” before surfing the web. Internet safety is no joke. Take it seriously.

3 Popular Plug-In’s for Mozilla Firefox

On its own Firefox is a pretty remarkable Internet browser. Most Internet users have found it to be more reliable and user friendly than Internet Explorer. The really great thing about Firefox is that as remarkable as it already is, users have the option to make it even better. This can be done by activating just a few simple add-ons.

If you’re anything like me, you’re going to definitely want to think about including the URL fixer that Firefox came up with. It’s a remarkable device. After you’ve added it to your set up, you’ll never have to worry about where the URL is going to take you, because the add-on fixes any spelling mistake you make. For the first time ever, my tendency of typing faster than I can spell no longer sends me on wild goose chases through websites I didn’t want to visit. The add-on catches and corrects my error and I get where I need to go.

It’s in your best interest to check out the add-on do not track plus. Firefox knows just how irritating the cookies websites attach to your computer can be and has done a pretty good job of making it impossible for any website you don’t like to track your internet travels. The do not track plus add on makes things even better.

Collusion is an add-on that Firefox has introduced to the world that everyone should seriously consider. Most of us know that we’re being tracked by certain websites, but few of us actually know which sites those might be. Thanks to Collusion you no longer have to worry. The site lets you see exactly who attached a cookie to your hard drive.

The right add-ons make your time on the internet even more enjoyable.

Blogging Tips for Beginners

Blogging is a competitive field and requires a certain amount of dedication. Hundreds and even thousands of new blogs are began each day, and each of these are fighting to gain new readers and success in the blogging world.

First, make sure that your blog is based on a subject that you are knowledgeable in and can consistently offer new ideas on. For example, if you are really interested in restoring and repurposing old furniture, it will be an enjoyable thing for you to blog about. You will be interested in sharing new ideas and techniques and completing ongoing projects that you showcase on your blog to your readers. If you think that a good blog would be on recipes and meal planning yet this is not an area that you have any experience in, and you don’t like to cook, this type of blog would not be a good choice for you.

Second, make sure that your blog looks good before you go ‘live’. Check each of your links within your blog to make sure that they function as intended. Put up some visually appealing photographs and graphics that will draw in the reader’s attention.

How to Draw in New Readers to Your Blog

If you are looking to attract new readers, one of the most important things you can do for your blog is to focus on your content. It is extremely important to have a blog that is visually appealing, but it is also equally important to have a blog with content that is worth the reader’s time. There are thousands and thousands of blogs in existence today and their topics range to cover almost anything you can think of.

For example, there are probably over one thousand money-saving blogs for moms who want to learn to shop using coupons and special savings and deals. If you want to create a blog of this same type you need to consider how you will differentiate your blog from one of the others. What information will you offer that separates your blog from the rest? What new information do you have to give them that will benefit them more than another site?

It is also important that you stay true to your blog’s overall theme. If your blog is about gardening, then it would seem odd if all of a sudden you started blogging about gymnastics or Olympic swimming. You are trying to create an overall image and if you don’t stay true to your blog’s intended purpose, you stand to lose readers to other sites.

The blogging world is extremely competitive and requires a commitment from you. Posting regularly is essential to blogging success. If your readers are coming to your page daily and are never receiving new content, you stand to lose readers and also their loyalty. Commit to a regular schedule that you will be posting on, and let your readers know the schedule.

Where to Design Blogs

There are a variety of blog hosting sites available. Every day thousands of new blogs are created and new information is being released. Many of these blogs are hosted on free blog sites such as blogger.com, wordpress.com or tumblr.com. Although the format of each of these sites is very different, they each offer a relatively easy format and a free domain to host your blog on. There are other sites that you can design that will charge a fee for your page but allow you more freedom and flexibility in the design and functionality of your website.

Should you choose to use one of the free blog hosting sites, there are a multitude of benefits that you can reap. These sites are widely known and their formatting is easily recognized by most all browsers as well as blog readers on the market today. They offer interesting plugins that you can install on your page to perform specific functions such as a blog counter statistic, the option to follow the blog by email, the option of having a photo slide show appear, and much more. If you are interested in using one of these free sites but would like to have your own domain name that doesn’t include their ending, you can purchase this each year as well. The cost is relatively low and usually averages between ten and twenty dollars annually.

Should you choose to design your own blog website from scratch, a lot more work will be needed initially. The benefit is that you can design the page to function exactly as you choose and you will have complete freedom and flexibility to alter code as you desire.

Importance of Visual Design on Websites and Blogs

One of the most crucial factors in a website’s or blog’s success is hinged on the beauty of its visual design. If you have outstanding information, beneficial topics, and crucial techniques for your readers, it still will not be fully utilized or followed if your website or blog has a lacking design.

There are many websites and blogs out there that have great information; Information that could benefit the lives of readers and to improve their quality of life. However, that information will never be delivered to its fullest extent unless it is accompanied by a visually appealing design and an easy to follow website format.

When designing your website or blog, be sure to include clear and attractive photographs or pictures. This will not only capture a reader’s attention, but also help to create your overall theme of your site. The opposite side of the spectrum is also detrimental; if all of have are beautiful graphics and photographs but no informative copy to accompany it, you are also in danger of losing readers.

Make sure that you have an overall theme for your website or blog that flows well from page to page and from design element to design element. For example, let’s say that you are designing a website for a pool installation company. It would be wise to use a variety of soothing colors such as blues and greens that will make people think of cool, refreshing pool water. If several pages on your website are full of flashing red and yellow graphics, this would not fit with the overall theme and flow of your site. By making a beautiful site, your readers will be sure to stick around and receive from the valuable information you are giving them.
